BOSTON, March 19, 2019 -- Risk Strategies, a leading national specialty insurance brokerage and risk management and consulting firm, today announced it has been recognized for excellence in its fine arts practice by Risk & Insurance.

Kierstin Johnsen, account manager, was named a 2019 Power Broker in the fine arts category. Since joining the team in 2015, Johnsen has been praised by clients for consistently doing her job at the highest level, even in extreme circumstances.

“She is diligent, extremely responsive and timely,” said Marilu Knode, director, exhibitions and programs of Milwaukee Downtown Inc./Sculpture Milwaukee. “Kierstin knows the nuances of our artwork, which is helpful in her giving me feedback on the additional security measures we take to protect the work and the public.”

Johnsen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Furman University in 2011, and a Master of Arts in Visual Arts Administration from New York University in 2013. She is a licensed Property & Casualty broker in the states of New York and Virginia, and specializes in insurance solutions for fine art collectors, galleries, book dealers, artist studios and museums.

“It’s always an honor to have our brokers recognized by Risk & Insurance,” said Mary Pontillo, fine art practice leader for Risk Strategies’ DeWitt Stern Fine Art Division. “Kierstin’s passion for the art world and ensuring her clients are well cared for is unparalleled. She is well-deserving of this prestigious industry recognition.”

The Risk & Insurance® Power Broker® Awards are an annual selection of the most effective and influential commercial insurance brokers. The Power Broker® designation is based on nominations provided by brokers and risk managers and is judged on the quality of the application and references by risk managers in each industry sector. Hundreds of risk managers and risk executives are interviewed in the process of identifying and soliciting, evaluating and judging the nominees. Brokers are judged primarily on their creativity in solving risk-related problems during the previous year, their demonstrated industry knowledge and their high level of client service.
